RUM AT THE READY FOR MANCHESTER’S FIRST!
After many months of waiting, Manchester’s inaugural Rum Festival is finally about to start.
June 3rd’s eagerly awaited event will see multiple rum brands come together for a day of rum tasting and frivolities at Revolución de Cuba.
In addition to sampling the many fine rums available it is a welcome opportunity to catch up with some of my fellow rum drinkers and reviewers such as Wes (FatRumPirate), Steven (RumDiariesBlog) and Chris (Rumming) as well as making some new friends such as Dave Marsland aka the Drinks Enthusiast and organiser of the event.
I will be there throughout the day in my usual RumShopBoy black polo shirt.
Come and say ‘hello’.

A lover of rums, especially British-style from countries such as Jamaica and Barbados.
Rum ambassador. Reviews. Rum opinions. Rum advice. Rum news. Rum chat. Rum discussion.
My first rum was Appleton and that is generally the benchmark I use for comparing rums along with Foursquare. My collection now has (in 2022) over 600 different rums and that number is continually growing.
I am an advocate of the Gargano rum re-categorisation.
As well as rum, I am a big Liverpool fan (and season ticket holder) and love Pet Shop Boys (hence the blog name) as well as having a cute cocker spaniel.
I have a Level 1 WSET qualification in Spirits, Level 2 with Distinction and a level 1 WSET wine qualification.
