Think you know what to expect from a budget rum?

You might be surprised.

In the latest instalment of my Budget Rum series, I’m looking at five affordable bottles that offer plenty of character without demanding a premium price.

This time we’re travelling from England and Madeira to the Canary Islands, Dominican Republic and Jamaica.

🇮🇨 Ron Aldea Dorado – La Palma, Canary Islands

🇵🇹 William Hinton Unaged – Madeira

🇩🇴 Ron Barceló Gran Añejo – Dominican Republic

🇯🇲 Kingston 62 Gold – Jamaica

They’re five very different rums, demonstrating once again just how much variety there is to discover at the more affordable end of the rum world.
