Like many people, I began my own rum journey without really knowing where to start.

The more I discovered, the more I realised how incredibly diverse the world of rum really is. Every country, distillery and production style has its own story to tell.

RumShopBoy exists to share that journey and help others discover bottles they might otherwise never have tried.

My Approach

I believe great rum should be judged on what’s in the glass, not clever marketing or impressive packaging.

Whenever possible I recommend bottles that represent good quality, good value and are realistically available to buy in the UK.

I also carry out hydrometer testing where appropriate and generally prefer naturally presented rums, while recognising that everyone enjoys different styles.
